Don't worry so much about the relay. Any $6.00
"Bosch" style relay available at many franchise auto
parts stores will do the job just fine. They're good
for at least 20A - more than enough to activate and
run your spots. The problem may be with the
surrounding wire connections. But then again, maybe
the relay is sticking. Swap in another as an
experiment but don't feel you need anything exotic or
expensive. Also, there are lots of good sites
detailing headlight relays and upgraded wiring
diagrams. Include "land rover", "MG", etc in your
Google search and you'll get friendly Brit car
experiences.

......The spots have a dash mounted on-offswitch and a
cut-out relay, activated by the main beam headlight
circuit, so they will only work when the headlights
are on main beam. The relay was unscientifically
selected from the after-market selection at the local
autoparts store.
The system worked fine at first, then the relay died
after about an hour of service. Could be a faulty
unit, but more likely one side or other of
the relay circuit was electrically overloaded due to
my poor relay selection! Can anyone provide a
suggestion for a replacement relay or provide a more
scientific basis for choosing the replacement?
