I insulated the floor, Transmission Tunnel Cover and Firewall with a
sandwich of a smoker jacket (barbeque type that was two layers of aluminum
with fiberglass in the middle) and HVAC Duct Insulation ( 10" wide composite
of aluminum and 1/4 inch closed cell foam with adhesive on the foam side) of
my BJ8 before I installed the Carpet 2 Years ago. I have driven in 95
degree weather and the temperature of the drivers side floor was no warmer
than the passenger side floor. In fact, on my way to the AHSTC Encounter
last year, I was sitting in traffic for 45 minutes due to a bad accident and
the top section of the interior was considerably warmer than the driver's
floor !
