There are four attaching points on the shock.  The shock is coupled to 
the rear axel via a shock link that has a 9/16 inch nut attaching it to 
the shock arm, and a 11/16 inch on the lower end of the shock link just 
above the leaf spring.  The shock itself is attached with two 3/8 inch 
bolts with nuts each 9/16 inch.  Try removing all of the 9/16 fasteners 
and see if the shock arm will come off of the shock link.  This is a 
tapered fit, and may require some added work to separate.  Possibly by 
wiggling the shock.  If that does not work, remove the 11/16 lower shock 
link connection, rotate the shock/link below the frame and slide it out 
toward the center of the car.
