I know what you're talking about - my car has the same
screw holes. I also have two larger holes on top of
the frame rails. These holes are also covered by the
fuel tank and serve no purpose. Maybe used for
something on the assembly line??

Thanks for the response, but I guess I wasn't clear.
As you look into
the boot from the rear of the car, the holes I am
talking about are at
the back on the floor next to the rear kick panel.
They are small,
probably #6 or #8 and they are found below the back
strip of the foam
rubber rectangular seal on which the fuel tank rests.
