I took my Healey out for a Sunday drive and fourth gear would pop out of gear
if I was accelerating. It happened at least two times under similar conditions.
If I am cruising at a steady speed in fourth no problem but if I shift into
fourth and continue to accelerate it will pop out of gear. Does anyone have an
idea of what could be wrong?
I have not posted to the list for a while because for the last three months I
couldn't get the Healey to start. A couple of weeks ago I removed the
distributor cap to install a new set of ignition wires (Accell yellow solid
cores) when I heard something fall and hit the floor. The cause of the problem
quickly became apparent, the distributor rotor was broken and it would no
longer rotate. Are these Lucas rotors prone to breaking?
