Well, I tried it, and it worked like a champ!. You MUST first have
Palm HotSync Manager V. 3.0 or better installed (available on the
included CD). Then, you plug in the connector, and install the drivers
from the CD.
My Toshiba 8100 with Win98 wanted to associate the Palm USB cable driver
with Com3 port, which was not an available option on the Hot Sync
Manager. While trying to figure out how to get the Manager to see Com3,
or get one of the other Com ports attached to the USB cable driver,
things just started to magically work. It took a reboot, and then some
time (I assume, as I made NO changes) before things sort of sorted
themselves out.
But it worked, no problems. Just wanted to share that with Lindsay, and
anyone else interested on the list.
