The subject says it, I guess. My mailbox has been attacked
by a spam attack, with over 4000 messages advertising a cut
rate mortgage in the last several hours. It's a rather
large message and has resulted in some 15 megs of download
time already.
What this means is that at some point tonight my mailbox
will crash due to being overloaded with this massive spam.
So for anyone trying to contact me, if you get some bounce
messages from my address, please don't be alarmed. We are
alive and well, but trying to dig through the 1000's of
copies this idiot mortgage company's e-mail spammer has sent
(and continues to send) us.
If you need to reach me this weekend, call me on the 800
number. 800-775-9511.
THANKS!

(I've e-mailed the spam-abuse contact from the domain from
which it's emanating with a couple of messages asking them
to try to quickly resolve, but who knows when they'll be in
to find the message. I though it might run out of steam,
but not yet. It started at about 3pm this afternoon, and
seems to send about 1000 message per hour, all to my
mailbox. I have set my filter to put the message directly
into my trash file when it arrives, but it still has to be
downloaded, and will still clog up my e-mail box on the
server. Next I'll see if I can do something at that level
to keep it from coming through to my system. If anyone has
any ideas that could actually stop it, please let me know!
