Hi Joe, good race week recap.

Sorry I didn't run into you. Busy busy as always.

Glad you had a successful race with some other cars. Gaining 8 spots is a g=
ood deal.

I was really disappointed with the number of cars that were damaged/destroy=
ed during the test days. Absolutely crazy.
There's a youtube video of the remnants of Gigliotti's car.
I didn't get there until Monday afternoon.

I was driving around the north paddock to trouble shoot a clunking noise in=
the rear end on the way to the grid. It finally went away.
Figured that it was a tooth from the tiny pinion I have to run.
Turns out one of the bolts on my three-piece wheels backed out and was grin=
ding away at my caliper. Huge gouge in the caliper and bolt finally broken =
off in the wheel.
At least a 1/4" by 1/4" corner is gone from the caliper and I'm still amaze=
d that it didn't cut through to the piston.

Have a good winter and hope to see you in the spring.

Anthony, I did not get a chance to stop by your paddock, but saw you drivin=
g around down in the north paddock at one point during the week. Did not s=
ee you at the NER party Tuesday night. I was racing in my FP Miata. My so=
n was there too in my Bumble Bee Miata, but blew the engine Monday afternoo=
n. No one was willing to sell their spare engine, so he went home sad. Wh=
ile I had the same HP as the winning Miata with a Prather engine, I needed =
to find another 10 seconds (found 8 for my first qualifying session, but st=
ill needed 10 more to be in the mix). First time at RA and only got one fu=
ll test day session and one full qualifying. Others were cut to 2 or 3 lap=
s due to crashes. I was surprised by the number of crashes in most groups =
during the week. FP Miata driver paddocked next to me went to the hospital=
(dropped a wheel off coming out of carousel, spun and hit wall), one Spec =
Miata driver was air lifted out during qualifying (trying to go 3 wide thru=
kink), while others went by ambulance to hospital, GT1 driver, Lou Gigliot=
ti, who started his race career in what is now my TR3A, went to hospital wi=
th multiple fractures.

My goal for the race was just to keep my nose clean (Jesse Prather's advice=
too) and finish. I started 23rd and finished 15th. Had a couple cars to =
race with at the back, so that kept it interesting. Only got down to 1:46.=
3.

Thanks very much Jason and everyone else for your comments.

The Runoffs is always a crazy week.
Sorry I didn't have more time to talk with you Jason.
Had just gotten back from Hoosier where they "fixed" two new tires and new =
wheels that were loosing air quickly.
Nothing like a surprise one hour before the race to get your blood pumping.

Sticker tires I put on for the race were terrible. Should have left the qu=
alifying tires on.

Finally back home in good old New Hampshire.
Now I have the winter to rebuild everything and find 20-30 HP.

If anyone is more than half interested, I recommend reading the GCR with em=
phasis on the Production rules and the PCS.

That will give you an idea of what is currently allowed, what isn't allowed=
, and how the competition's specs stack up.
