Jack many modern gaskets are coated with a sealant that melts/seals when t=
he engine gets heat in it.When in doubt, I grab the copper-coat.I have good=
luck with the Land Rover split seal, although the alloy housings sometimes=
have to be machined for a good concentric fit in the block.
