Road America was incredible to work with as a sanctioning body. They w=
ere flexible and supportive leading up to the event and through-out the week=
end. This said, we did run into some challenges with this size of an e=
vent but Road America staff made note on several occasions the professionali=
sm of Kastner Cup participants. We all really represented Kas wel=
l here.</li><li>We worked hard at making sure both race entries and street T=
riumphs were accommodated, presented, and together in the paddock. With the n=
umber of overall race entries to the WIC, we were making adjustments in the w=
eeks and days leading up to the event for street and race paddoc=
k parking. We really appreciated everyone's flexibility in changes=
and approach.</li></ul><div>A peek behind the scenes for just a moment:<br>=
</div><ul><li> Grid position for the Kastner Cup race was determined by=
the very seasoned and helpful timing and scoring staff at Road America base=
d on the qualifying sessions on Saturday. Not all cars participated in=
qualifying which resulted in the grid presented for Sunday's race. Go=
od feedback from drivers and the Grand Marshal proved very helpful and is an=
example of where RA staff were flexible in working with us. 3 trips t=
o timing and scoring Sunday morning corrected the grid but didn't perfectly&=
nbsp;translate to false grid staff and running order. For those racing=
participants on false-grid on Sunday, you experienced a bit of delay as we c=
ontinued to work with the grid marshal to make "most" of the corrections.&nb=
sp; Thanks for your patience and feedback.</li></ul><div><br></div><div>To a=
dd to Brian's comment, "it takes a village":<br></div><div><br></div><ul><li=
>Throught-out the past year, Grand Marshal, Joe Alexander, provided invaluab=
le feedback and counsel to make this event happen. The important relat=
ionship with Kas firmly sustains the future of the Kastner Cup. <=

upon your success. </li><li>2017 Kastner Cup Chairs: Brian Garcia and J=
ason Ostrowski. Their experience hosting the 2017 Kastner Cup and conn=
ections with RA proved invaluable. We were able to leverage many of th=
eir ideas and efforts and for this event Brian Garcia really laid the ground=
work with RA to make it all happen. Many meetings and phone calls.&nbs=
p;</li><li>The topic of the Kastner Cup grid for Sunday is important as=
it is a great example of how well everyone works together for the Kastner C=
up event each year and this is where I really want to highlight <b>Henr=
y Frye</b>. Henry was back in Connecticut working up spreadsheets for t=
he running order. This was never asked of Henry, not planned, but imme=
nsely valuable. We were able to take Henry's analysis to timing and sc=
oring and make changes to the grid. So, thanks to Henry. W=
ell played at an important moment. </li><li>Bob Johns and family: =

overdue but as typically happens the real world was waiting to bash me over=
the head as soon as I got back from Road America and I've been playing catc=
h up all week. I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one o=
f you that attended the Kastner Cup last weekend. All that were there c=
an attest to the fact that this was no small event. With 500+ cars and=
thousands of spectators it is difficult for a group to stand out but we did=
. =46rom the cars on display at the welcome dinner, to the FOT members=
involved with and honored at the HOF induction, to the parade and concourse=
Friday night, and all weekend on the track you shined in the spotlight.&nbs=
p; I hope you enjoyed your time there. I can tell you first hand that w=
e made a great impression on the Road America staff as I'd knew we would.&nb=
