dation. I run my TR3 with that same gear box and rear end. My engine can rev=
to 7000 but I typically shift at 6000 due to where my torque is made. In Ja=
nuary at COTA, I was turning fastest laps of the Triumphs and consistently p=
lacing on top 3, in group 2. I find with the TR3, I=E2=80=99m limited by aer=
o at about 120mph which is well below 7000 rpm. </div><div><br></div><d=
iv>I=E2=80=99d never consider going to a lower rear end ratio for racing, yo=

Sprints at Road America in 1989 and 1991 with my TR-4. I used a 4.3 r=
ear end gear and a close ratio (Dolomite) gearbox with overdrive. Same=
set-up I used at Road Atlanta for The Runoffs. The 4.3 gives a good g=
ear for the tight corners (turn 5 and Canada corner) and the overdrive gave m=
e plenty of top end. Of course my red line was a little higher than yo=
urs (7.000) so you might have to adjust accordingly. Good luck.</div><=
