The heavy outbreak of Corona in Italy was caused by some big events in Nort=
hern Italy, the ski holydays, the Bergamo football match and a third one I =
did forget. It is generally accepted that a virus can spread easily where l=
ots of people are together for some time.=20
On the other hand, a pandemic can turn down, and mostly does so, before her=
d immunity is reached. The seasonal influenza epidemic comes and goes witho=
ut reaching herd immunity of 60%. Unfortunately, this corona virus is much =
more dangerous than the influenza viruses, not because it is more contagiou=
s but you are much better off with a flu than with the covid-19 infection. =
People die from influenza too, but if that happens it is because of complic=
ations like bacterial pneumonie and other surinfections (things that doctor=
s can do something about) but this corona virus is killing people on its ow=
n by causing pneumonia, vascular damage and so on and even if you are in ho=
spital (intensive care), all the doctors can do is give support and often t=
he patients die and they can do nothing but watch it.=20
Anyway this virus has a big influence on our way of living, we can't deny i=
t and go on as if it would not be there. Organising a big event is very com=
plicated now.=20
