I haven't really been paying attention, but this caught my eye. Can someone
explain to me why a lithium starting battery can't be charged by a DC
generator? The original RB106 control box used on TR2-4 probably doesn't
control voltage & current well enough, but you can buy a solid state
regulator that goes in the same housing, which should have no trouble
meeting Li requirements without roasting the generator.
And I would think the RB310 control box used on early Spitfire, GT6, etc
would need no more than a bit of tweaking to work fine.
