Good luck finding them in aluminum, I think they are all iron now.
Some time ago I heard of someone making them again, but at a hefty price.

You could have bought the old aluminum drums at about $75 each.

?The OEM Datsun Z finned aluminum drum is a nice retrofit. Several of the
racers and street enthusiasts have installed them. The conversion doesn't
require much modification. Lighter weight and cooler running that steel drums.
Like Triumph parts, the original Z drum is what you want, not the aftermarket
piece. Can be machined to 9.055" dia. Lot's of info in the FOT archive. ?

As the drum gets thinner/closer to the regrind limit, it will have a

I can't explain the difference in the cost between the drums, but in my
experience the cheap drums/discs/etc are cheap for a reason, and not suitable
for hard use.

Thanks to all who replied regarding the brake shoes. I?ve ordered a set
from Ted Schumacher. The drums didn?t clean up with 0.025 removed from a side
(final size 9.050). It would take another 0.020 on a side to clean the drums
up making them 9.090 diameter. I think that is probably too much to take off
but I?m not sure. We have a set of original drums on a street car rear axle
that we could try and clean up or I can order some new ones. There seem to be
two type of drums available; $27 ones and $58 ones (Moss). Nothing in the
specs as to why the difference. Any input on drums would be appreciated.

The left rear brake shoe lining came off the shoe at Blackhawk Farms last
weekend. I am looking for suppliers for brake shoes with riveted linings as
the one that came off was a ?glued? lining. I?d also like to specify the
lining to use, the Carbotech linings whose pads we use and like on the front
discs. I?m also open to any suggestions about what to use for the rear brake
shoes. The above would just be my preference based on the latest experience.
I see Revington has competition shoes with ?Mintex 20? linings I think for
about $120 a set which appear to be rivited. Anyone with experience with these
brake shoes and linings?
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.
