Unfortunately, that's a sure-fire way to make it vibrate all the time.
The TR6 pan is about an inch and a quarter deeper at the front, so, with
stock mounts, it sits quite hard upon the steering rack. The GT6's pan
can be used on the TR6 engine, but only with some modification--making ~
1/2" deep lateral dimples in it for connecting rod clearance.
But, related to that, no one's mentioned the trans mount, and I'd also
have a close look at that, just to see if it's moving around at speed,
since that's going to affect the driveshaft angle a bit. For Jay: by
chance, have you noticed the gearshift lever wiggling around when this
vibration starts?
