Shame on me. I visited the VSCDA website and it all came back to me. VSCDA
designates their Race Car Groups numerically, and it is pretty clear where most
race cars fit (including the specials in Race Group 3). Then after they
determine the entry for an event, the designate Race Groups using letters of
the alphabet, and that is where 3D and 3X end up running with the cars from
Race Car 8 Group in Race Group "C" or CHARLIE, and 3E, 3F, and 3G end up
running with the cars from Race Car 2 Group in Race Group "E" or ECHO.
The preliminary schedule for VSCDA's Gingerman Raceway event is now up on their
website. Visit the website, pull down the Gingerman preliminary schedule and
it is pretty clear.
We'll see, but I will not be surprised if at the Blackhawk Vintage Classic
event this year there will be a special Race Groups for TRIUMPHs, most likely
called Race Group F or FOXTROT.

Bill-
Correct. We'll all end up in the same place but you are correct that Group 3
would be the proper placeholders for specials.
Thanks!

Looks like any Devins, Ambros, TR250K and Peyote would be group 3. Is that
correct?

VSCDA has opened registration for the 2017 Blackhawk Classic. This is the host
event for the 2017 Kastner Cup. The link for online registration is:
http://www.cvent.com/events/vscda-blackhawk-vintage-classic-xxv/invitation-706dde3c6c304c0d9262e3e7bca7dd88.aspx
Please register as soon as you are able - this will be a big help with
planning. Here's a few notes regarding registration:
- You will have to select a Group and Class during the process. All of our
cars will either fall into Group 2 or Group 8. Either way, we'll all run
together in an all Triumph group but you will need to make a selection.
Information on the groups can be found here:
Group 8:
https://vscda.org/racing/groups/group-8-historic-production-gtu-through-1972-1275-cc-and-over-engines/
Group 2:
https://vscda.org/racing/groups/group-2-vintage-production-based-sports-cars/
- The preliminary schedule has not been posted yet but in general there will
Friday practice with an optional enduro at the end of the day, Saturday
qualifying and then the Kastner Cup at the end of the day, and then additional
opportunities for racing on Sunday.
- Be sure that you select the Kastner Cup from the list of options
- VSCDA will be providing me with contact information for all of the Kastner
Cup competitors. I'll reach out with an email containing a few questions.
Please take a few moments to answer these questions as the information will be
used in a Kastner Cup program / spotters guide that will be available at the
event.
Thanks so much to everyone that is supporting the event. We can't wait to see
you in June. Please let me know if you have any questions.
