Bud,
I made my own degree wheel from a piece of flat aluminum stock and a glued-on
paper degree wheel that I got from one of the performance parts houses ?
Summit, Pegasus, etc. The hole in the center has fit the pulley bolt on the
engines I?ve worked on lately (including a TR motor). I also had to do an
initial check without removing the pulley, so I got some strong double stick
foam tape and pressed it into place. I then checked for true TDC and bent a
temporary pointer into position. I was able to check cam timing that way.
If accuracy counts, don?t photocopy someone else?s degree wheel ? that can
create a distortion so that the timing figures can be a couple of degrees off
in various places around the circle (I found out the hard way some years back).
