A handful of FOT ran with VRG last weekend at New England's newest racetrack,
Palmer Motorsports Park, otherwise known as Whiskey Hill Raceway. The track has
14 turns, is 2.3 miles long, 40-feet wide, and 190 feet of elevation change!
An absolute hoot to drive!
Bob Lang in his TR6 was the class of the field in the big bore group all
weekend, and Kent Bain led the small bore group in his Spitfire. Always nice to
see the good guys finish first! There were 7 Triumphs out of about 40
registered VRG cars, a great showing.
A quick plug for this track, it is absolutely worth the tow. The track is a
very challenging drive. It was designed by racers, has camber where you want
it, and a flow that is truly amazing once you figure it out. As a bonus it is a
marvel to look at with all the blasting of rock that was necessary to make it
happen!
Track management is still working on the amenities, and chatting with the very
accommodating staff it was obvious they are trying to accomplish all the right
things as soon as possible. They are dealing with the neighbors on sound
issues, so some minor muffling is in order. Once I got my head around making an
exhaust system with a racing muffler, it was no big deal.
Keep this one on the radar, guys. You will enjoy it!
Cheers
