Hi,A lot of the weight requirements are based on what class the car runs in=
(and which GCR in the US). I'll bet the heavier TR6 is based on the C Prod=
uction setup with Lucas PI or Webers where the TR250 may have been for D Pr=
od and running two 1.75" side drafts. As another data point, I got my car do=
wn to 1950 lb for SCCA Solo F Prepared. I had to start getting "dicey" as f=
ar as making car reliable (like the 4 lb battery and stuff like that). To b=
e honest, I'd go reliable before I'd try to get as light as possible. All th=
at said, the weights that Scott quotes are somewhat close to the curb weigh=
t of a factory car, probably sans bumpers - as the Vintage GCR says, Produc=
tion cars have to appear as they would in the showroom, or words to that ef=
fect. I can also tell you from experience that the interior bits and wire h=
arness weight about 350 lb, so the math is quite easy". Oh, and a stock TR6=
bonnet weighs about 75 lb. ;-) Also - glass is very heavy.C ya,Bob Lang
