Doug,

=20

Isn=E2=80=99t that confusing to have different rules for club and pro =
level?

=20

With FIA red flag during a race means stop racing, driving slow without =
overtaking and collecting at the finish line and wait for further =
instructions.

A red flag during a quail session means the same but driving to the =
pitlane and waiting for instructions.

=20

A black white flag for warning a driver, show with car number.

And black flag disqualification.

=20

These flag rules count for all levels of racing world far with FIA.

=20

At RA I learned that there are differences with flags.

Yellow flag

FIA: do not overtake from the point on where the flag is shown

USA: do not overtake as soon you can see the yellow flag=20

=20

Green flag:

FIA: is shown at start and after a yellow flag to allow overtaking, as =
far I understand, in USA after passing the danger zone you can overtake

USA: only shown at the start,=20

=20

Not easy for me to get used to the different way of showing the same =
flags.

=20

Cheers

Chris

Chris,

=20

In the States, at the club racing level, the black flag is used to stop =
a race where it is safe to continue at a reduced speed. Officially, it =
means stop racing, continue to the pits at a reduced speed. The red flag =
means to come to a safe and controlled stop and wait for instructions =
from the flag marshals before continuing. It usually is used when there =
is either track blockage or a severe on-track incident requiring =
emergency vehicles.

=20

At the 'professional' level, the red flag is used to stop a session =
(usually practice or qualifying) when safety vehicles are sent out on =
track.

=20

The black flag is used at all levels to signal the driver to they have =
committed some kind of offense. Furled (closed) for a minor warning and =
open for a major one. In these cases it is shown with a number board and =
at start and a black station.=20

=20

=20

=20

Cheers,

Doug

Very cool race Tony.
Some very great moves to get in front.

What I don't understand.
To stop a session in USA they use a black flag?
In Europe they use a red flag to stop a race caused by an accident or
similar things. Shown on all corners.

A black flack with the car number is used to expel a driver from the =
race,
disqualification.
Shown only on the finish line.

Seems there are different flags use in our countries.

Very confusing for me, if I ever come back racing with you.
I would have been go on racing because of the black flag with not my car
number shown. :-)

Cheers
Chris

Here's my in-car video from the Kas Cup race at Summit Point last =
weekend.
There are several more races coming (like 3 or 4 of them) but this =
seemed
like the one I should put together first.
