tested hundreds of these. i normally find a good pump will build pressure
as low as about 750rpm  . with a 1/2 hp hand drill its a real handful, but
in the lathe with it sitting on the cross slide , its no real hassle
provided you have it tied down. you can then test at more realistic speeds
like 1500rpm
