The TR4 has a wider track than the sidescreen TR's, by means of a wider axle
housing and longer axle shafts. You can build the Salisbury LSD in a TR3
axle housing. All you need to rebuild your spare TR3 axle housing, are the
shorter TR axle shafts. The TR4 rear axle will provide the rest of the
parts.

Are axle shafts at all interchangeable, between TR4 and TR3 (late-Girling)?
My car has a tr4 rear axle ( it was raced with big slicks and WIDE
fiberglass fenders in it's previous life), and now that I must use stock
steel fenders and (Tr6) steel rims, I have clearance issues. (Is there a
"better" steel rim to substitute?) I do have a spare tr3 axle housing. Would
it be ok to rebuild that with the Salisbury LS dif, and the tr4 shafts? I
don't have enough knowledge about this.
Thnks for your suggestions.
