By measuring the overdrive pressure and oil temp, it became clear that using enough pressure and volume to keep the wet clutch slippage to a minimum reduced the oil temp build up and reduced the clutch surface damage. Flakes from the clutch can clog the oil filter, and the brake ring can turn blue. Needless to say I was not lifting when shifting.
