This came from the HSR rules & Regs. I didn't read further to see if there was
any way around
it .
Policy:
It is our policy for cars to be restored to and/or maintained in the
configuration as they
were raced in the year of manufacture. The only modifications that are
acceptable are those
required by HSR in the interest of safety. Modifications that increase
performance or handling to
later or contemporary standards are not permitted. Cars must be retired from
all forms of
professional racing.

Hi,
I'd read the "tires" section at the HSR site.
The way _I_ read it, you can probably run DOT tires like Toyo Proxes RA1's
but the "spirit" of the rule would be to run the Vintage TD's or something
similar.
But it's all spelled out as to what HSR requires:
http://www.hsrrace.com/HSR/HSRHome.nsf/attachmentweb/EJEN-637HSK/$file/Rules+
&+Regulations.pdf?OpenElement
Scroll down to HSR Tire Rules.
For Spitfires, I read the rule as 185/60-13
For TR's I read the rule as 195/60-15
regards,
rml
