We have our crap can TR6 Lemon's car on the lift getting prepped for the April
23/24 Lemon's race at Eagles Canyon in Decatur TX. The track is about an hour
NW of Fort Worth, not that far from the Oklahoma border. We have a team of 6
drivers and 3 crew so far, but we can handle more if anyone wants to join us.

This is VERY COOL and another facet of what we do.
Thanks for sharing this.
ChumpCar and 24 Hours of LEMONS has taken off.
We have two ChumpCar events in our area, coming up and I would like to
attend....time permitting. ha!
I think John Nikas participated in a TR7 and Bob Kramer is involved with a
TR6.

I honestly wasn't trying to see how many alliterative "R's" I could get into
the
title...it just worked out that way.
Anyway, for those of you
interested, we competed in two ChumpCar 7-hour
endurance races at "The Rock"
(road course configuration) this weekend with our
1975 TR6 "Lacey". There's
only one class, so we were out there with everything
from a '64 Chevy pickup
(!) to a BMW E36, Miatas, Mustangs, Fieros, Saabs,
Nissan Z's and a really
quick Mercedes 300.
Saturday, we had some off-course excursions and some
imperfect fuel strategy,
ended up in 12th place -- although we were pretty
happy because the car ran well
all day and that's the best finish we've ever
had (27 cars competed this
weekend).
Sunday was even better, with the team
driving more consistently and fueling
going better. We ran top-5 most of the
day, but a late race "splash and
go" stop dropped us to 6th at the checker.
Still was phenominal as far as we
were concerned since we finished ahead of a
LOT of much faster cars due to
consistency. For all but one of our
drivers this was either our 3rd and 4th or
4th and 5th races ever, so we're
pretty happy right now.
To top it all off, the team received the "Spirit
of Chump" award as the team
that "gets" what ChumpCar is all about, drives
well and courteously, and gets
more out of their car that anyone has a right
to expect...
Our next race is a 14 hour event at Charlotte Motor Speedway
(road course
configuration) April 23...if anyone out there is interested in
joining us or
forming a ChumpCar or LeMons team of their own, shoot me an
email and we'll be
happy to help!
