Good collection of photos. It appears that the upper photos are of the
thinner Herald Bellhousing and the lower ones are the thicker Spitfire
bellhousing. Notice the differences in the ribbing.

Here's an album of my transmission collection, which includes at least 3
aluminum bell housings. 2 of one version and 1 of another. I see the
difference as in the style of the ribs. I don't think I have a good shot
showing the thickness of the one removed from the tranny.
