[Fot] spitty diffs

Rebuilding a diff for a 76 Spit autocrosser
and the pinion gear shims are junk.  Anybody
know where to find some?  Absent finding them, is there
a work around?  Like using thicker side gear
shims to take up the slack?  All ideas welcome!
