Since Billy Mays has sadly passed away, it looks like I will have to pitch
our New Jersey event myself. No problem, I learned everything I know from
Ralph Steinberg (rumor has it, so did Billy!)
The *ENTRY FORM IS OUT *-- see the latest VRG Newsletter, which went to all
VRG members a couple days ago. The entry form is also posted on the VRG web

"Thunderbolt Historics" then "entry form". (P.S. we changed the name this
year to "New Jersey Historics" to more accurately reflect the track).
*We really need your support *for this event. NJMP is an expensive track to
rent, and last year we had the pleasure of hosting the MG Vintage Racers,
who brought about 50 entries. We need to attract more entries this year to
take the place of all those MG's.
So why should you enter? It's close to home for many of us; an interesting
new track; we're the only vintage club with an event on the Lightning
Circuit, which is faster and more flowing than Thunderbolt; lots of track
time; reasonable entry fee; a great Saturday night barbecue at the Air
Museum again this year; and I'm working on a few other surprises (stay
tuned).
Also, if you haven't made your hotel reservations already I strongly suggest
that you take advantage of the special VRG room rates at the following
hotels. These are the two nicest hotels in the area, and the rates are
excellent (most places are charging $150/night for that weekend!)
*Wingate by Wyndham*, Vineland, 856-690-9900, $105/night, ask for the
"Vintage Racer Group" rate.
*Country Inn by Carlson*, Millville, 856-825-3100, $90/night includes
breakfast, ask for the "Vintage Racer Group" rate.
I know there are many great events to choose from in the fall, and I hope
you'll consider supporting VRG by entering our New Jersey event (and our
Watkins Glen event in October) -- these are both major undertakings for VRG
and we truly appreciate your support!
