Second; we can always use more Spit racers.
Welcome Duane.

Got another nomination -- Duane Bailey
Dunno why he's not been on this list for years. Certainly he's known to many
of us. But I just now talked to him (He's refreshing one of my engines at the
moment) and he gave me the go-ahead to put his name up.
Bailey, of course, owns West Michigan Imports in Byron Center (near Grand
Rapids), Mich. He's a Britcar specialist (Triumph, MG, Jensen, Jaguar) for
parts & repairs and a Spitfire racer, member of West Michigan Region, involved
in the race program at Grattan and GingerMan.
I've known Duane since we were both members of the Jayhawk Sports Car Club at
the University of Kansas. Actually I helped restart JSCC with a group of my
friends, and Duane shows up at the first rally we put on, then began
autocrossing his Pontiac GTO. His car was so big and my Spitfire so little --
and courses so much tighter then -- I usually beat him handily. Then we
graduated and I lost track of him for many years until a mutual friend who
lived in Grand Rapids reacquainted us and I found he'd become this Spitfire
guy. Long gone the GTO. Wonder if our contests on the parking lots of KU those
many years ago had anything to do with it? :-) Since then he's become my
engine specialist (trannies too) and the guy I call when I need help.
