Doesn't GL-5 have sulfites in it? If so, that could cause damage to the
brass parts in the diff.

I would use GL5 oil.
The diffs are very stressed during racing, GL4 might come to its limits.

I use Redline gear lube (75w90, I think) in my non-triumph rear axle
with a detroit locker. It hasn't caused problems. My understanding
is that the lockers aren't very particular about the type of oil,
unlike our transmissions.
