I believe that is true. If I'm thinking of the right one, Bill's conversion
uses an original bellhousing, clutch linkage and pressure plate; which means
you don't have to change the flywheel and starter as with Herman's
conversion (on earlier TRs). The bellhousing gets cut away from the
original gearbox housing, then reinforced and machined to accept the Toy
box.
And while I know it's an unpopular viewpoint, I kind of like having the
clutch hydraulics out where they can be serviced without removing the
transmission. With Herman's setup, you even have to pull the gearbox to
adjust the clutch.
