Bud,
When I first built Tiny Tim, I used a modified GT6 gearbox with a Spit
engine and aluminum flywheel. I had a lot of troubles initially getting the
thing to work right. In the end it turned out that there was contact
between the input shaft and the flywheel causing a grinding whine when I
engaged the clutch.
I took the tranny out and installed it so many times trying to find the
source of the noise that I finally got to where I could have the thing on
the floor in 20 minutes all by myself.
So just roll up your sleeves and go for it.
Joe C.
