Jim: Are the advance numbers you are speaking of in addition to the static =
advance you already have in the motor? If so, the two will add up, and that=
33 degree number would scare me. If your static timing is 12 degrees BTDC =
and you add 33 degrees you are in a land few ever venture with TR motors. I=
don't like more then 30-32 degrees total advance in any TRactor motor. MG'=
s can handle more, but not TR's.=20
Thanks - Ed -

I don't know the advance of the old distributor. I was the only part on the=
car that was not replaced or rebuilt.
I used the Lucas 25D with vacume advance. I replaced it mainly because I th=
ought the advance was questionable.

I don't think my system is the same as yours because it advances 1 deg for =
each 100 rpm=A0 it ramps up from 19 deg advanced to 30 deg=A0 advance=A0 up=
to 3000 rpm from there it runs up to 35deg total advance. I would not chan=
ge the jetting if the only thing you changed is the dist. I would try=A0 tr=
y reduceing the 27deg mark to around 22 -23 and let the full advance come i=
n around 2800rpm. Do you know the curve of the old dist?

I said in my last email that coming off the throttle, I meant getting in th=
e throttle and that's below 2500 RPM.
Throttle response is good from 2500 and up. It just barely runs under 2K.
