Subject: [Fot] TR3/4 Camshafts - another cottage industry
This is a commercial message to let you know that I am planning to make
another run of the camshafts that I designed for the TR4. This cam is
currently running in three racing TRs, our TR3 (since fall 2005), Uncle
Jack's TR4 (since spring 2006) and Tony Drew's TR4 (since spring 2007).
We have all been very happy with the performance of the cam. You may
recall Tony's post after the MOTRAH event
(http://www.team.net/mharc/archives/html/fot/2007-05/msg00330.html).
The cam has 298 degrees duration seat-to-seat, 251 degrees at 0.050, and
0.376 cam lift. Lobe separation is 108 degrees. It produces good power
in the 4000 to 6500 RPM range. Tony and Jack's dyno runs showed peak
horsepower at about 6000 RPM. I think it is the good low end power that
enhances driveability with this cam. If you want to spin your engine to
7000, it is probably not the cam for you. If you are interested, the
cost is $400 each and you must furnish a stock cam as a core. I know
this is high for a reground cam, but believe me, most is going to the
cam grinder, who does top quality work. Please let me know off list, if
you're interested in one of these cams. I can also furnish additional
technical information if you need it.
