On page 228 of my first book, the Handbook, you'll find the TR-4A story at
Bonneville. We did 128.2 mph in 1966. The TR-3 (small mouth) might be a
little quicker because of body shape, but the record for the class is over 135
mph (back then) and the under 2 liters is held by Alfa's at about 125 or so,
all of these might be higher since 40 years has passed.:-)
We did this time with a had top and full windscreen etc so going as a roadster
and a full tonneau will give dividends.

Very interesting idea... Also a bit ironic - For years, Connie's
message on our home answering machine has been "Elvis and I are ...
[enter current info here]"
Since our trip to Miller last month, the message has continued "...
looking for the worlds fastest Triumph"!
Sounds like the kind of effort I might want to get involved with. I
have the parts Bill is after and am right next door in New Mexico.
I just left Bill a message and hope to hear more soon.

P.S. What was the speed record set by the aero TR3 in Belgium back in
the '50's? Something like 126mph? Might be a good starting point to
shoot for.
