Tony,

I have all my new tappets checked by Steve of Integral Cams. His minimum 
acceptable Rockwell is 58. With that standard, I have had no full set of 8 
pass, including the ones with the "additional hole in the side". I believe 
his current charge for this service is $6 per lifter, including polishing to 
remove the "dimple". Good insurance, regardless of the tappet supplier.
