Vibrator motors, oh yeah.
When I was young we had a 1/72 scale set (I think, they were pretty tiny)
that
had a ratcheting type vibrator motor. The rear axle was a serrated drum and
a
metal follower on a flat piece of spring steel that vibrated up and down on
it. Was it ever noisy! Then we upgraded to normal rotational electric
motor
types.
Anyone remember the Cox 1/24 scale Chapparal 2E with the wing that would
increase it's angle under deceleration? Now that was a slot car.
The photo is of the real Chaparral 2E.

What is the

I still have my "Thunderjet 500" set from the mid-60s. It's laid out on
plywood, we set it up every year at x-mas time in the shop. Slot car
races
today!

ps- anybody remember the early vibrator motors???
