in an effort to come up with a clutch disc material that will stand up to
increased power and still be street drivable
I had a couple of used disc rebuilt and covered with a Kevlar material that
is normally used for tow trucks and sometimes
for drag racers. I installed one in my TR6 a couple of months ago and so far
I like it. It hooks up faster than a stock unit
and I am told by the rebuild company that it should last a lot longer than
the stock material even with my added horsepower
and light weight flywheel which requires a few extra revs when pulling away
from a stop in city traffic. I had a couple of extra disc plates made up
and have one offered on ebaymotors: item number 330019595476 if any FOT
members are interested.
