Hi guys,
Good timing! Mark Brinker just did the research on this one for our book
Vintage American Road Racing Cars 1950-1970:
Canon Mk.1: Built by Ted Cannon in 1950. 1930 Dodge frame (boxed) and
shortened to 100" wb. Dodge IFS, Ford live axle in back with transverse spring.
Mercury flathead with 3-spd Ford box. Often driven by Jim Seely in races and
hillclimbs in early 1950s. First Pebble Beach race third behind two XK-120s
driven
by P. Hilll and Don Parkinson.
Canon Mk.II: Rear -engined with flat aircraft engine. Ran once, taken apart.
Canon Mk.III: Not built.
Canon MkIV: The blue car that runs the historics. Ran 270 Offy in period, now
has a V-8.
