Close - I was crewing for Chip Bond at the Runoffs (as I recall, it was the
year that we were paddocked next to Hardy Prentice). Joe Alexander
came down to Mid-Ohio to spectate, and gravitated over to our paddock
space. After dinner one evening, Joe began musing about how cool it
would be to find a way to link all the guys who were still racing Triumphs
(SCCA, vintage, autocross, whatever) together to chat, share information,
etc. etc. Since Mark Bradakis had been running the Team.Net website
and e-mail lists for a while, and since he was a good friend, I told Joe
that I was pretty sure that I knew someone who could make it all happen.
Once I got back to my computer, I contacted Mark and he did make it
all happen. So, it was Joe's idea, and Mark's work that started it all
(and I was just the middleman). It has grown a bit since then, of course.
