So this fellow in Salt Lake brings in a TR3 motor to Bailey's shop and
wants to know what kind of shape it might be in, what work it might need
to get back on the road. The car sat for years, blah blah blah.

Pull the pan, and things don't look like expected. This is a *clean*
motor, someone did some work on it. And it looks like some nice work.

We won't know for sure the extent until we pull the head and such.
The guy who brought it in knows some snippets of the car's history.
He says it was raced years ago by a fellow named Hwang in California,
the Palo Alto area. Hwang raced it back in the early sixties, he was
killed in Viet Nam in 68 or 69. Car sat forever, ended up with family
friend who moved to Salt Lake, now it is getting rebuilt and the motor
is now sitting at Bailey's shop, waiting for me to tear into it some
more and measure a few things, etc.

So does any of this quite scant early history of the car ring any bells
among the FOT bretheren?

mjb.
