If I remember correctly, I believe that Ken Galander's high performance
coolant pump has six blades. I am sure that it put a larger grunt factor on
moving
coolant since the shaft eventually sheared off. I also imagine that it uses
a little extra horse power.
>From Ken's directions, I managed to fix the pump by drilling and tapping the
shaft for a bolt, to clamp on the aluminum pulley. I presently have a British
Victoria water pump installed with Ken's pump in a parts box as a spare.
