| If the box is built with Triumph parts rather than Austin-Morris the 
second gear should be a wide type running on a top hat bush. If this is 
the case I can't see how the mesh is wrong. The gears from 4 and six 
cylinder cars are distinctly different, and the only variation is a 
strange helix on a few second gears for a late TR7 4 speed - and these 
don't mesh. If on the other hand the gear is a narrow type running on a 
plain bush there are a number of possibilities. So...wide or narrow?
