Dear FOT,
I would also like to thank everyone for the information and opinions on bent
axle tubes. All of these messages have been saved.
I have one old rusty rear axle assembly left, which I should be able to clean
up, weld up, and install in the car, unless I find something wrong with it.
At the rate I have been going through them, I should have a backup. I plan to
first take the other two axle housings with bent axle tubes to my machinist
to see what he says.
I was hoping to find some way of getting Fiberglas fenders, but if I have to
use the car as a battering ram, I may as well keep the steel fenders.
Regional SCCA racing around here is becoming more like dirt track stock car
racing.
The car now has the following heavier than normal Fiberglas pieces:
-Roadster Factory Nose Piece
-Hardy's repaired wrecked hood.
-Precision Plastic's Trunk Lid.
The old TR-3 earned a little more notoriety before it passes away. I copied
and pasted in some past messages so that I do not have to retype the
information:

Hi Kashia,
Is Aug getting any more work done on restoring his Healey?
The following address gives the new Steel Cities calendar of events (races,
spring party date, etc.). Maybe you could print a copy for Aug:
http://www.steelcities-scca.org/calendar.html
I will copy and paste in some messages concerning the past years Awards
Banquet so that I do not have to retype the information.
Neil, I hope that you are not swimming around in the commode down at the
Happy Valley these days:

Hi Billy,
I copied and pasted in a message that I sent to Dan. I actually won an award
this time:

Hi Dan,
I attended the Steel Cities Awards Banquet last night (Christmas Party). All
of your countless hours of hard work has paid off. The numerous SOLO-1,
SOLO-2, and racing awards had been handed out. Then they announced that there
was
one final racing award -- The Brass Balls Award. My name was called out. He
said that I was still racing an old TR-3. It is lucky that the thing even
starts, but then it has been finishing reasonably well for the last few years.
The Brass Balls Award has apparently been around for a couple of years.
There are two other names on the plaque before mine:
2003 Jim Mystick
2004 Glenn Hoffman

Hi Bill
I cannot think of anyone who would be more deserving of this
award. The only award which is higher than a Brass Balls
award would be the "Just Plain Nuts Award."
Once again: congratulations!!!!
Yours in Triumph
