I think that bushing is of sintered bronze and not a particularly good
material to start with and has a very sharp machining edge at the bottom the
brim of the hat. Some may be of brass and the same sharp edge problem. Lots of
folks have made their own from steel or 7075 T6 aluminum with success.
Kingston Sportcars (UK) might have this is a harder material in stock.
