Sorry about this comment, but I have to laugh at this a little, not at the
author, but the subject. This is exactly what the racing group I run
with(SOVREN) does. People I've spoken to about the preparation specs which
are SCCA 1969 PCS, think it's absurd to prepare a car to these specs.
We're racing old cars, not old bodies over new mechanicals. In our club the
motto is "The Cars are the Stars". This is an attitude I think that would
be good for all of vintage racing, if that's what we want to do. If not I
see drag racing has funny cars which look like old Chevy's with new motors
and chassis under them.
Anyway, I'm pretty proud to have a car that uses almost all Stanparts, some
British parts and no Japanese parts on it.
