Steve,
I am working with CVAR on how to handle these issues. As a club, we have done
this before for other marques and with the FoT's history of past events at
previous venues for back-up I expect no problems with getting almost all cars
permission to run. I'm still trying to get the Wedges in, and we have a
request for a current prep car to do the 2 practice days and run the Sat/Sun
Triumph races. We'll see if we can make that work.

CVAR standard rules are to bump performance enhancing infractions up into the
proper class with a one time waiver. That would apply to Webers on TR4'a and
50 series tires on 13 and 14" rims. CVAR does allow 50 series on 15" rims now
and triple Webers on TR6's. The fiberglas would be a problem only if you were
running for originality points. Unless it is excessive there probably wouldn't
be a class bump just for that. As for the fun factor, TR4's run in DP, GT6's
run in EP, both run with Group 7 with the CP cars anyway. Spits run in Group
2 with some really fast Midgets and Mini's. No worries!

  Steve,
Bob Kramer has been appointed to coordinate with the CVAR folks on these
questions. I know they will allow exceptions for visitors, and I'd think if
you're VARA compliant you should be ok. However, I'll let Bob get back to you
with a more definitive answer.

    Hello Larry,
I'm pretty confident the VARA group is expecting to be there for
Thursday's practice. I expect we'll be staying at the track but I can't yet
speak for everybody.

Looking at the CVAR regs they seem a bit more restrictive than the VARA
regulations. Can we expect some allowance from CVAR in light of the distance
we've traveled? An immediate example has virtually every VARA car running
multiple Webers. I think by then there will be 50 Series tires on all the
TR's. There's a lot of fiberglass on half the cars. Will we still be
welcome?

Thanx for setting this up, Steve Smith
