I spun a bearing in Killer last time, so didn't have a car at this
past weekend's IVR race. But I still got to do a few hot laps. One
fellow let me take his Spec Miata out on course. My right arm is used
to the Spitfire gearbox, with the 2 -> 3 shift requiring a bit of extra
motion up to the northeast, so to speak. But in the Miata, as well as
some RX-7s I've driven, that habitual Spitfire motion provides a 2 -> 5
shift - not conducive to staying in the power band!
But still it was a *fun* ride. Luckily I'm currently unemployed, or there
might be an appliance racer in my near future!
