If the crank has to be turned, ask the machinist to take the plugs out and
clean out the lathe chips. They usually have better methods for removing lock
tight frozen plugs. He should also have a better method of removing the metal
chips from the crank. If he has to drill the plugs out, they can be replaced
with 1/8" plumbers plugs. My machinist usually has the plugs sitting out of
the crank, and then replaces them in front of me using the red lock tight.
