Change the Grose jet back to a standard jet, and I'll bet the problem
disappears.
If you look closely, the Grose jets expose more surface area to the incoming
fuel pressure, and so require more force from the float to hold the valve
closed. If the float sinks under that much force, the valve stays open and
the carb floods.
Of course, it's also possible your float is heavy for some reason, like
having fuel inside it.
